Today at The Graham School, LTWLA gathered its enrolled youth for a formal introduction to Coach Alyson. She has been learning from Coach Warda and getting integrated with the culture and atmosphere at the school. Coach Alyson shared about her experiences working abroad, as well as her undergraduate and postgraduate endeavors. The students were actively engaged and asking questions.
Coach Warda talked about her educational background, too, and she did an awesome job of having the youth speak up about their own Lead The Way summer work experiences so others could have that insight. She also touched on the breadth of reach that Lead The Way has in terms of finding work experiences that can align with the various interests of The Graham School students.
Touching on post-high school tracks, Coach Alyson reiterated that Lead The Way is there for them, whether they choose to go to college, trade school, into a job, or even the military. Lead The Way is there not only to help them through the process, but also simply to not feel alone in exploring the real steps needed to pursue those pathways.
Wrapping up, Ms. Mary swooped in to reinforce the importance of workforce development for high schoolers. She stated that The Graham School is fortifying their relationship with Lead The Way, and they’re only going up from here. She addressed how The Graham School went from 4 to 9 enrolled youth, to now having 21 enrolled in Lead The Way. Ms. Mary also introduced Lead The Way’s newest member, Brea, the Director of Business Operations. Brea proudly announced that Lead The Way will have even more summer opportunities this year.
