The Graham School Celebrates Seniors with a Festive Pajama Breakfast

Friday, December 20, 2024

The Graham School recently honored its senior class with a delightful Senior Breakfast, filled with camaraderie, inspiration, and holiday cheer. Held in the school's “big room,” the event provided seniors with a relaxed and cozy start to their day, featuring a pajama theme that perfectly complemented the warm, festive atmosphere.

A Breakfast to Remember

The buffet-style breakfast spread was a feast for all, featuring a variety of delicious options, including:

  • Bagels, muffins, and English muffins.

  • Fresh fruit and holiday sweet treats like candy canes.

  • Beverages such as orange juice, grape juice, apple juice, water, and milk

The comfortable setting encouraged seniors and staff to come together and enjoy a morning filled with good food and great company.

Sharing Walkabout Goals

After breakfast, the seniors formed small groups of 3–4 to share their Walkabout goals and plans for the upcoming year. The Walkabout program is a unique educational initiative that allows seniors to develop their skills and explore real-world experiences outside of the traditional classroom.

One senior enthusiastically shared their plan: “I plan to attend my three morning classes at The Graham School and then begin my internship at a paralegal office. I’ll be shadowing professionals, dressed in business attire, and working downtown in the afternoons.”

This portion of the event highlighted the students' aspirations and the school’s commitment to preparing them for life beyond high school.

Holiday Fun with a Gift Exchange

The morning ended with a lively gift exchange. Seniors and staff sat in a circle, eagerly taking turns selecting gifts from the table. Adding a fun twist, participants could steal a gift from someone who had already chosen, making the game unpredictable and exciting.

Laughter filled the room as gifts were swapped, and everyone enjoyed the friendly competition. The event brought joy and strengthened the bond between staff and seniors, creating lasting memories.

A Heartfelt Thank You

A special thank-you to the organizers, staff, seniors, and volunteers who made this event a tremendous success. Your efforts ensured that the senior breakfast was a celebration of community, achievement, and the bright futures of The Graham School’s Class of 2024.
