Leadership Excellence is a skill that not many possess, but everyone can work on. At New Albany High School, students have signed up to take the next step, learning leadership skills that will help them in their everyday lives, especially with employment. These students are learning about Tier 1 and Tier 2 goals and how to use these goal-setting techniques to prioritize and maximize their time and efficiency throughout the day. This training is part of a 12-point Industry Recognized Credential, giving them skills to apply in life and an alternate pathway after graduation. They also learned and used different techniques to prioritize time-sensitive objectives well.
Lean 6 Sigma, a tool that helps identify bottlenecks and simplify or eliminate them to improve processes and efficiency, is being taught by Lead The Way instructor, providing an alternate pathway to graduation for these outstanding youth. They learned the history of Lean 6 Sigma, and how it remains relevant today. These students in the Green Belt training will utilize the information they learned and will use it to create a process that could help improve an issue within the school. The youth will also be responsible for creating a presentation showcasing their methods and results.
Congratulations to all of the youth who are working hard to complete these trainings!
