Today, our West High School students visited Kitchen of Life for an interactive lesson centered around the word "autonomy" — what it means, how it affects us, and why it matters in social-emotional learning. Through a hands-on cooking experience, students explored autonomy by choosing their own ingredients to create personalized smoothies and parfaits. Each choice became a reflection of their preferences, decision-making, and independence. After the delicious fun, students shared thoughtful reflections on what autonomy means to them — from having a voice in their learning to making mindful choices that reflect who they are.
