The HBCU college tour organized for our students at Lead The Way Learning Academy proved to be an incredibly impactful and informative experience. Thanks to the generous support of Scott Williams, President of Winston-Scott Enterprise, and Franklin County Jobs and Family Services, our students had the opportunity to visit a diverse array of historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). They explored campuses such as Kentucky State University, University of Kentucky, Morehouse College, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, University of Alabama, Alabama State University, and Fisk University.
This tour was more than just a series of campus visits; it provided our students with firsthand exposure to the rich history, vibrant culture, and academic opportunities offered by HBCUs. Many of our students expressed profound gratitude for the chance to see these institutions up close, learn about their unique programs, and interact with current students and faculty. This experience not only broadened their perspectives on higher education but also inspired them as they consider their own academic and career paths. We extend our heartfelt thanks once again to Scott Williams and Franklin County Jobs and Family Services for making this transformative journey possible for our students.
