Lead The Way proudly partnered with The Student Stakeholder, LLC to bring students an unforgettable opportunity through the "Exposure Leads to Expansion" initiative. Thanks to the support of Groveport Madison High School and Cornerstone Academy High School, students embarked on a 3-day educational and cultural trip to Chicago, Illinois—a journey that broadened horizons and opened minds.
A City Full of Discovery
From April 16–18, students stepped beyond their everyday routines and into a city full of culture, inspiration, and possibility. The trip kicked off with a powerful visit to the DuSable Museum of African American History, an institution dedicated to the preservation and celebration of African-American culture, named after Chicago’s first settler, Jean Baptiste Point du Sable.

Sky-High Views & Campus Tours
The adventure continued as students took in breathtaking views from the 103rd floor of the Skydeck Chicago, experiencing the city from new heights—literally! The group also explored the academic side of the Windy City with guided tours of The University of Chicago and Chicago State University. These visits offered a firsthand look at potential college paths and helped students envision their future in higher education.
Cruising, Dining, and Navy Pier Fun
Students enjoyed a scenic city cruise, private dining experiences, and time exploring the iconic Navy Pier—taking in the sights, sounds, and energy of downtown Chicago.

A Historic Final Day
The final day of the trip began with Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programming to reflect and center students before heading to a memorable Chicago Cubs game at Wrigley Field. In a meaningful twist, it was also Jackie Robinson Day, as the Cubs faced off against the Arizona Diamondbacks—reminding students of the legacy of perseverance, courage, and breaking barriers.
Why It Matters
This experience gave students more than a change of scenery—it gave them hope, perspective, and inspiration. It showed them what’s possible when they step outside of their comfort zone and dare to dream bigger.
We are deeply grateful to The Student Stakeholder, LLC, Groveport Madison High School, and Cornerstone Academy High School for helping make this transformative trip a reality.
Through experiences like these, we continue to lead the way—together.
