West High School hosted an impactful event designed to educate students about the many community resources available to help them navigate their paths toward success. The Community Partner Panel featured distinguished leaders, including Anthony Murphy, CEO of Lead The Way, who engaged directly with students to provide valuable insights into career development, mental health support, and long-term success strategies.
A Commitment to Student Empowerment
The event aimed to bridge the gap between youth and local organizations, ensuring students have access to essential tools and guidance for their futures. Anthony Murphy, a proud graduate of Columbus City Schools (Eastmoor, Class of 1999), expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to connect with students, stating:
“As a Columbus native, I am always honored to speak with students from my city. Events like this reinforce the importance of community engagement and access to resources that can change lives.”
A Thought-Provoking Discussion
The panel covered a wide range of topics, including:
Career pathways and workforce readiness
Mental health awareness and available support systems
Community resources for financial literacy and mentorship
The interactive nature of the event allowed students to ask thought-provoking questions, leading to meaningful conversations that empowered them with practical advice and real-world guidance.
West High School’s Dedication to Student Growth
Murphy also took a moment to acknowledge West High School’s staff and students for their commitment to organizing a well-executed and enriching event. He shared:
“West High School has an outstanding team of educators and students who put together an exceptional panel. The engagement from the youth was truly inspiring, and it’s evident that they are eager to take advantage of the opportunities available to them.”
